Stephanie is the main service provider with Family Centered Consulting Services, and has been providing support, counselling, therapy and consulting for over 29 years. She is committed to supporting adults, children and youth, along with their families, as they navigate through life transitions, individual and family challenges and their life journey.
Her training and background with youth and families started in recreation and sport, while she completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Victoria in Developmental Psychology and post graduate courses in Expressive Therapies. She continued her training at the Marriage and Family Therapy Institute of Vancouver Island, earning her Certification in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFTC). Stephanie is a member (#1817) of the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association (CPCA), and has been a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC) since 2003. As a front-line counsellor in a mental health residential setting, Stephanie provided service for at risk youth and their families with mental health and behavior challenges for 14 years, developing her skills in clinical assessment, applied behavior analysis, behavior management and other therapeutic interventions. She is now training as a Relationship Development Intervention (RDI) Consultant to further serve families with neurodivergent challenges. |
She has been part of clinical teams in a variety of settings and maintains her practice in consultation with many other registered practitioners. Stephanie's professional development and training is ongoing in a variety of areas including Anxiety, Autism Intervention, Neuro-Developmental Issues, Suicide Prevention, Self Harm, Trauma, Parenting and Relationships, and other Mental Health Issues.
Stephanie uses a strength based approach and focuses on building awareness, exploring blind spots and healing through a variety of therapeutic modalities and approaches including Cognitive Behavioral, Brief Solution Focused, Narrative and Expressive Therapies, as well as Body Focused including Emotional Freedom Technique, Tapas Acupressure Technique, Silva Method and Body Energy.
